The holidays are coming, the Christmas tree is lit, the stockings are hung and there is a chill in the air that only comes with winter. Even though we still have a couple of weeks left of fall, the weather is definitly changing. The good news is, the holidays are coming and we have plenty of hot coffee to keep you warm and keep you moving. If you haven’t been into the coffee shop lately, You must come in for the holidays…. The place looks beautiful and we have five new holidays drinks to choose from! But you had better hurry, because when the holidays are gone, so will the holiday drinks! So sometime during the month, come on down and ty one of our Gingerbread Latte’s, Pumpkin Latte, Candy Cane Latte, the Egg Nog Latte and hot apple cider.

The holidays are a time of the year when we get to take some time off, unwind and spend time with friends, family and loved ones! Even though it has been a tough year for most of us, we are still very thankful this year for all that life has given us! While many of us, myself included, have had to make sacrifices and are working two or three jobs to make ends meet, with little to no releif in sight…. Sometimes it can feel like we are in a row boat in the middle of the ocean, fighting an losing battle and going nowhere! I’m sure many of you can relate…

The good news is, there is a silver a lining in all of this chaos that we live in…. We purchased Old Cal Coffee in January of 2011 and we have been working our fingers to the bone making improvements to the coffee shop! All this hard work has been paying off because the coffee shop is busier than ever, the reviews on Yelp are outstanding and we have best staff the coffee shop has ever seen! In a failing economy, we turned around a failing busness to make it, not only profitable, but we were just named “the best coffee shop in San Diego!”

So it just goes to show you, that hard work, persistence, and just too darn stubborn to quit, can really pay dividends in life… Try this in your own life… .The outcome will be amazing! Seriously! Try it… 

As we are approaching the end of the year, I just wanted to thank everyone who has been a part of Old California Coffee House & Eatery. It is the patrons and the staff that makes Old Cal what it is today! We couldn’t do it without you….
