Another Amazing New Band at Old Cal Coffee… “Pacific Avenue!”

I was approached by John & Alice Hopauir of Pacific Avenue many, many months ago and they wanted to play here at Old California Coffee House & Eatery. He told me that he had a great band that played classic rock music and that he could pack the house… Well, he had me at classic rock… lol. Several emails back and forth, we finally booked a date, unfortunately, it was four months out…. but well worth the wait.

The lead singer, Jim Houston was great to listen to because he had something to say about every song they played and I really like that. He would introduce the next song and then mention how this song moved him or when he first played it or maybe about how difficult a particular guitar rif was or some history about the original songwriter… It was like an encyclopedia of music history and information! I loved it… They started off with Take it Easy from The Eagles and finished the night with the Foo Fighters and played everything in between. I remember signing and dancing at the register that night and I was so busy, that I only made it outside a couple of times, but boy could I tell how great they were from inside.

Other band members include Julius Kim-electric guitar and vocals Eddie Park- bass Jon Hoffpauir-drums Alice Hopauir-keyboard and vocals. I remember Julius and Eddie stopped by the day before to make sure my venue could handle all their equipment. I really appreciate them coming by to check us out. It shows that they care about their music and their performance! You guys killed it… and I can’t wait to have you back!

It was a record night that nigh at Old California Coffee House and Eatery. I overheard one gal mention how she has been coming here for years and she has never seen it so busy!” I said thanks, I hope you like all the new changes that we made to improve the coffee shop. I want to send out a heart felt thank you to the band “Pacific Avenue” who not only killed it on stage, but brought a loarge fan base with them to Old California Coffee House. Thanks John, Alice and the rest of the guys in band! Great job that night. I hope to have you back very soon!
