As many of you know, it is hard to get your band booked at Old Cal Coffee because the demand to play is much greater than available performance nights. Mike Chartrand has been contacting me for the past year trying to get booked at Old Cal. He finally caught me on the right day at the right time when I was booking my next three months of gigs but I wasn’t sure at this point if I was going to book him. Mike put together a press release of places that he played, links to his music along with some photos of him gig’n around town… and sure enough… He Sold me and I booked him.

On June 29th, 2012, Mike Chartrand and his band The Bipolar Bears with the addition of Randy Renner joined the list Old Cal Coffee bands as he played his first gig to a cheering crowd. I am so glad I booked them because the demo that I received from Mike didn’t translate the Awesomeness that Bipolar is…. Some bands just sound better live and that is definitely the case with The Bipolar Bears. Mike is not only a good singer, but he is an entertainer as well. He can get the crowd into his music and I think that is what makes the listening to him live that much more enjoyable and entertaining. Thanks again Mike for a great show. You were Amazing!

I think the standing Ovation and the crowd demanding an Encore performance right after you went all out on what you thought was your closing song… is a good indication of how great of a performance you had. Oh man, we had such a great time! Thanks for being such  a great sport and singing another one as the crowd was wanting more of The Bipolar Bears….
