San Marcos Arts Council’s May meeting at Old Cal Coffee

On Tuesday May 15th, 2012, The San Marcos Arts Council held their monthly meeting at Old California Coffee House & Etery in San Marcos Ca. The meeting was called to order at 5:35 PM and in attendence was Craig Garcia, Giovanni Garcia, Jacob Angelo, Mike McDonald, Cathy Cronin, Raziah Roushan, Marilyn Huerta, Jane Sim, Greg Snaer, Janice Acaro, Tonya Lenz, Meg Salas, John Walker.

New Officers were nominated and by our nomiating committee and votes were placed and counted. We would like to welcome the new board of directors for the San Marcos Arts Council for May of 2012- May of 2014.

Vice President – John Walker
Treasurer – Jacob Angelo
Secretary – Meg Salis

Introductions and nomination for our new board memebers were made and all new members were welcomed including Raziah Roushan, Tonya Lenz, Janice Acara and Jane Sim. It was announced that Tonya is also a member of the Chamber of Commerce. Cathy Cronin from the City of San Marcos was also in attendance.

June 3rd – Art Walk & Jazz Music – Restaurant Row
July 1st – Art Walk & Keli with Kainga Music – Steel Drum Performance – Restaurant Row
August 5th  – Art Walk & Mike Rudolph Piano – Restaurant Row
Sept 2nd – Art Walk & John & Mo Mullins  – Folk Jazz – Restaurant Row
Oct 7th -  Art Walk & TBA Music Performance – Restaurant Row
Nov 4th – Arts Alive – City of San Marcos – Restaurant Row

Future Music Performances Scheduled- Jacob

Jacob announced plans for music concerts for June. These would include Twin Oaks Art Gallery High Tech High event, Farmer’s Market event and Ryan Brothers. Details are being fine tuned.

 

We also put the final deatials on the TERI Art Festival- Greg Snaer, May 19

Greg briefed us on details on Saturday event and invited all members to attend.  Raziah donated a beautiful piece of art to be raffled off at raise money for TERI. John & Jacob to work the SMAC table, Raziah and Marilyn to sell artwork. (Update: Jane was also in attendance and images have been posted on facebook).
