My Birthday Party at Old Cal Coffee was Awesome!

I had reserved the back room at Old Cal Coffee, which they call the propellar room. It’s the one way in the back where the study and meeting tables are and it holds about 20 people comfortably. Pictured above from front left is Dylan (My son) in the red shirt, then Megan back left, then Beto from Mexico City, Joanna, Chris, Jorge Mendez, Craig Garcia, Joelle, The Tatmans, Kirk, Tatyanna & Channelle & D’Ona Mendez. We also opened up the french doors and reserved an outdoor table for 15 right outside the propellar room, but in the patio area! It was perfect because I was able to fit all 35 of my guests and everyone had the perfect seat! Some of the people wanted to sit inside, where it was a little warmer and quiter and the others wanted to sit outside in the fresh Summer air and enjoy the sounds of the Live music playing on the patio at Old Cal Coffee.

Here’s a picture of my friends who wanted to be outside inthe fresh air with the band and the music. From left to right, Greg and Kendra is hiding behind Greg, then Eric Lilly, Mike & Cindy,Michelle,Steve & Diane is hiding behind Ken and then Kiera in front right… You can see how we opened the french doors to make one big indoor/outdoor room!

Old California Coffee House and Eatery was the perfect place for me to hold my birthday party! It was so cool having the band there and I didn’t even have to pay it… because Old Cal Coffee provides live music every Firday & Saturday Night from 7-10 pm with a Sunday Matinee performance from 3-5 pm. I had the option of going a la cart with my menu, where my guests could go to the counter and order on their own or I could choose the catering option. Old California Coffee House and Eatery in San Marcos Ca provides all the catering needs for your party. A typical menu would include two to three sandwiches or wraps, a salad, a fruit bowl and a cake for your party for around fifteen bucks per person! Considering there is NO room charge, No extra charge for the band and i didn’t even have to clean it up! I thought it was the perfect place for me to have my birthday party!

Take a look at some of the pictures we took from that night! This is our good friend Dana Smith, who was the designer for teh remodel and transformation of Old cal Coffee with our good Friends Kirk & Channelle. It looks like everyone is having a great time! The kids pulled out the games, ate our cheese melts and had hot chocolates. One child was lactose intolerant, so we introduced him to our Java Blitz… a non dairy substitute. It was awesome! We had a great meal prepared by the chefs and it was a blast for all ages! I had all my friends there, some traveling for an hour and a half to be there. Two of the nicest surprises was two old friends from my childhood showed up un-announced! My old high schoold friend Joanna and her two children, my godson Chris, who now has his learners permit and Megan, now 12… OMG, what a great family you have…

and my other good friend came all the way from Mexico City! My best friend Jorge had brought Beto from Mexico City as a surprise! Funny thing about Beto, you never know when or where he’ll show up! You gotta love friends like that…

and at the end of night… When it’s all said and done… This picture above is why we do it… That’s Dylan and his two cousins Joelle and Diorah at the firepits… their smile says it all :-)

A dinner party for 40 people at Old Cal Coffee in San Marcos ca… around twelve bucks a head!

Time spent with family and friends…. PRICELESS
