This was no typical Saturday Night at Old California Coffee House and Eatery in San Marcos Ca where we were just about ready to get started with our Live Music. We had a special guest that night in Rob Carona and I knew it was going to busy because whenever Rob Carona Plays Live Music at Old Cal Coffee, the people show up! He has a HUGE following and a lot of them live in North County San Diego, so I knew they would be here! I’ve had the chance to hang out with many of his fans and they are very cool people. Many of them live nearby or go to school at one of the colleges or to Summit Church of San Marcos! We finally got to hang out the next night just as friends at the House of Blues, where Rob was Headlining again… This time, I was just a fan and really had a chance to enjoy myself and the show… more on that later.
Meanwhile, back at Old Cal Saturday Night…. We were so busy, that unfortunately, I missed most of the performance, as there was line out the door the entire night with people getting food such as Sandwiches, wraps, soups, bagels , Iced Tea, Hot Tea, coffee, Espresso Drinks, Desserts, blended frozen drinks etc! However, I did happen to shoot one video that night with the help of a friend. (read on and you’ll see what I mean) Check out this next video & if you watch it closely, you’ll notice that I start the video by myself… (yea, it was so crazy, I couldn’t even find someone to record me, so I had to improvise and record myself) … It gets funnier… read on…. So as you are watching the video and after I do the introduction, I get into position to record Rob on stage and I realize that I haven’t turned on the lights to the stage yet, so I hand off the camera to a woman standing next to me and I whisper in her ear, “can you hold this for me?” and she is soooo sweet, and says YES!, then I go turn on the light to the right… You’ll see the spot light adjust a little and then settle into position. lol… That’s me… turning on the light and adjusting it so my friend Rob won’t be playing in the dark… Sorry Rob.. I got a little behind in my duties that night… Then, you’ll laugh even harder as you see me pop out to the left about thirty seconds later and I go turn on the other light on the other side of the stage and finally return before the end of the song to grab the camera from my new friend right before the song ends and I can stop the video…. LOL… OMG, I laughed so hard when I watched this the first time, because I almost forgot about what happened… I hope everyone can see the humor in this the way I do… pass it on to your friends for good laugh…. lol
The next night was special for me because I got to see my good friend Rob Carona with his full band play live music at the House of Blues on Sunday, July 31st. This was perfect for me as I just finished work doing the Sunday matinee for the San Marcos Arts Council and picked up Eric and rushed to downtown San Diego to watch Rob play and sure enough, as I walk in, he is already playing to packed house again! Some of the people just saw him last night, but most of them were an entire new crowd that came out to see him. I guess he has a HUGE following in downtown San Diego too! It doesn’t surprise me… This guys shreds and is destined to be a superstar! Using the same Camera from last night, I happened to shoot ONE video. Now the sound on this won’t be that good because I was standing too close to the speaker, so it will be a little distorted… But you’ll finally get to see and hear Rob with the Full band… Something we could never have at the Coffee House, so I was excited to Rock with these boys tonight!
