Yes, I do believe that is Left Coast Willie there to the left. Here’s another great story… You’ve read the blog post “Gem in a Box” where I found Fandoango and other bands that now play regularly at Old Cal Coffee…. Ok, for those who haven’t read the blog post, it goes like this….. One night, Eric and I were up late working on the OldCalCoffee.com website when I decided to check out all the musicians who had left demo CD’s behind. Well anyways, I found some “Gems in that Box” that night and this band called Two of us Plus One is one of those great finds.
So I fired off an email to Jen and asked if she would be interested in playing at Old Cal and she was, which is why they left the demo cd in the first place… right… ? So I booked them right away! The only problem is I had to wait three months to get them because they were so busy!
That night turned out to be one best nights at old Cal Coffee. The band shows up early, they brought fans and they were the nicest people you ever want to meet. It turns out, they have been trying to play a gig at Old Cal for years, so I guess the timing was finally right. One thing I noticed when they showed up is that there were four of them…. hmmm wait a minute… I thought they were two of us plus one…. Isn’t that three? You know I went to Plublic school, but even in public school, two plus one equals three! So I had to ask… Jen, What’s whith the name? They actually started out as the Two of Us, the added one more and got the name Two of us Plus One, which finally stuck, however in recent years, the band added a fourth and they didn’t think it was a good idea to change the name again… So there you have it… Two of us plus one… and one more!
I had a chance to watch their show and I was so happy with their performance, that I booked them again on Auguset 12 and October 15th of 2011. Please look back at our calendar on Old Cal Coffee website for all your Live Music and Entertainemtnt needs at Old California Coffee House and Eatery in San Marcos Ca.
Here’s a video from their performance…
